In fact, to render advice to the public in mortgage matters, it is mandatory that the mortgage consultant possesses CeMAP qualification.

To acquire CeMAP qualification, there is no prescribed minimum academic qualification and there is also no need for any industry experience. All that is required of you is a strong aptitude and a passion for the mortgage profession.

To achieve an overall pass in the CeMAP, you need to pass each of the following three CeMAP modules:
• CeMAP 1 - UK Financial Regulation (divided into Units 1 & 2)
• CeMAP 2 – Mortgages (divided into Units 3, 4, 5 & 6)
• CeMAP 3 - Assessment of Mortgage Advice Knowledge (divided into three parts, A, B & C)
To succeed in CeMAP examination, you have three different types of training programs and you can opt for the one that best meets your requirements.
Intensive Class room training - This is by far the most common training option available and the usual format is - CeMAP: 5-day course (Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM). As the syllabus to be covered is rather vast, the CeMAP trainer has to drive the group at a fixed speed in the 5-day intensive course. If you think you are not best suited to this style of learning, you need to think of an alternative training method.
Home study program online (distance learning) - If you consider it difficult to take a week away from work for attending intensive classroom program, a home-based online learning option might prove to be a better alternative. Many trainers offer a well- developed computer-based CeMAP study software package. This learning methodology will contain everything that is included in the intensive classroom courses. Interestingly, many trainers also provide with live telephone and email back-up support, seven days per week.

One-to-one training - From start to finish, this method will usually take a fortnight to complete and you may have noticed that this dedicated one-to-one training option is only as expensive as the group training course. The one-to-one training session can be conducted at a location in your area as that will save you time and money. You will get the full attention of the trainer instead of sharing it with others in the group.
Shijina is an expert SEO copywriter for CeMAP. At the same time, ensuring the availability of a Cornell education to the most qualified applicants demands an aggressive financial aid program that avoids cumbersome tuition hikes. The University — a primary beneficiary of taxpayer dollars through its contract colleges and federal aid programs — must find other means to provide substantial financial aid without letting the burden fall solely on the student population.

As The Sun reported Tuesday, New York state residents in the contract colleges — the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Human Ecology and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations — will see their tuition rise by 7.4 percent for the coming fall semester due in part to diminished state funding. All other students will see costs increase at four to five percent.

Half of the funds resulting from the increased cost of tuition will be appropriated toward the admirable initiative of providing more financial aid for students in need. President David Skorton has aggressively pursued making attendance at the University affordable throughout his tenure, and we expect that his administration will continue to champion this worthy cause. Education continues to serve as a means to develop the tools necessary to start on a pathway to success, as well as a broader appreciation of learning.

Thanks: http://www.cornellsun.com/section/opinion

Open courses on CeMAP

When you apply for loans, you would have often come across a term called mortgage. We end up taking loans in our life for various reasons. Some, maybe very essential, and some to just to add that little bit of luxury in your life. Whatever the reasons we take out loans for, the issuing authority, or the lender, most commonly a bank, would like collateral for the loan that they give out to you.

This is because they want to make sure that they get back the money the money that they give you. In terms of security, the banks are only being fair. Most of the times, people sign in a guarantee who would be responsible to repay the back the money in case you are not able to. There are also many banks that ask for property as collateral. This is also known as mortgage. When a property or an asset is mortgage, it means that in the event you are unable to repay back the loan, the property would be seized by the loan issuing authority like the bank, and will be sold off or made use of to repay back the loan.

Thus mortgage is to pledge your property against the full loan amount that you have taken. It is quite common when a bank loans amount a large sum of money. When employees look for mortgage counseling, someone with a qualification in mortgage is highly sought after. Hence it is becoming an important career choice for many today. There are many countries who train their students to complete and clear mortgage exams. Such practical lessons are common in their house Fogle is a home-school teacher to Kyra, 7, and Liam, 10. Like that of many of today's home-schooled children, however, their education is not restricted to studies at the kitchen table.

Fogle uses real-life experiences outside the home to supplement the subjects she teaches at home Some days, her daughter might attend a class at the Columbia Art League, take horseback riding lessons at Willow Ponds Farm or care for the family guinea pig. Liam might tinker on a 1968 BMW motorcycle with his dad, arrange his own piano tunes or build Lego replicas of classic cars Home schooling has evolved in the past 20 years from simply giving children lessons at home to arranging a complex network of extracurricular activities that supplement the academics.

The Fogles and other home-schooling families in Columbia might take field trips to the state capital, perform in musical theater and take music lessons Today, the children have the option of enrolling in virtual home-school classes, taking supplementary courses at a local high school and participating in joint projects that bring home-schooled families together.

"To me (their education), it's all one giant stew," Fogle said. "There's no one place to learn."Recently, her children spent nearly the entire day outdoors, building a playhouse from a pumpkin box in the backyard. Complete with windows and a door, the ordinary cardboard container became the perfect child-sized escape "All the math and the reading and the writing and stuff, that's important, too, but you can learn pretty much at any time," Fogle said.

Source: www.columbiamissourian.com

Rethink higher education

If you think about the university nowadays, we offer semesters based on agrarian calendars even though few to none of our students are actively engaged in farming. Our semesters and courses are designed in 15-week blocks of times. What's so special about 15 weeks? Material is presented linearly. Which means if you miss a concept in a chemistry course, you're in serious trouble come the final. Everything drives from the concept you missed. Because we're working with 20 to upwards of 300 students in one class, we orient the material and the rate and everything we do in the classroom around the middle of the class. For those who are struggling, it's very difficult to help get them up to the middle; those who're bored are doing nothing when they could be doing more advanced work.

Much of what we do in higher education — from the way we teach to the administrative structure we use to carry out the mission — has been around for hundreds of years and perhaps even a thousand of years going back to the formation of Oxford and Cambridge. So the question then becomes, is that structure appropriate for the challenges facing higher education both within the state of Arkansas and indeed across the nation?

In his book "The Innovative University: Changing the DNA of Higher Education from the Inside Out," Harvard professor Clayton Christensen examined business leaders a decade after they were at the top of their industry and found that most were at the middle of the pack and many were in bankruptcy. He found that leaders rarely got beat in head-to-head competition. Rather, a business came in at the bottom to offer a new product that was simpler, more affordable and allowed more people to participate. Christensen suggests that online education has the potential to be that sort of disruptive technology in the world of higher education.

Source : www.arktimes.com
